He leaned back against the chair, rubbing against her scalp in light circles. Wondering how long it would be before she woke up enough to make assumptions and punch him. "To get an ice pack for my imminent destruction?" He muttered, finishing the sentence she had started before falling asleep

She awoke what must have been hours later, or at least it felt so. She no longer felt that her body had been drained, and was extremely hungry as she must have not eaten for at least a whole half of a day. She stirred and opened her eyes to find herself on the corprals lap. She sprung up in shock and stared at the man she had been sitting on for quite a while. She started to speak but was immediately innterupted by him.

"Please do be quiet I only just managed to get this over here, and it was mostly with a lot of throwing things and praying to a nonexistent entity." He didn't look up from the notebook from before, which he had somehow managed to transport across the room without having gotten up. "And you seemed rather comfortable," he added, with a smug look up, "didn't want to cut out on your rest now did I?"

She still stared ub shock but moved her gaze to the windows of the room. Dark clouds had started to form a ways a way and small lights had flashed in the clouds during the time she had looked out. "Thats probably not good."

"Yes, I'd assume you'd rather not be out there in the pouring rain, far after the orders have been given to remain below deck, sneaking out of my quarters, would you, especially with my reputation to add to the fray." He still hadn't looked up from the book, though he had gotten sleep earlier, the familiar curve of dark circles was visible around his eye. "I do have a couch in here you know, it's almost like they're afraid I'll rat them out to the commander for treating me badly or something."

She slowly turned from the window and walked toward the shelf. She scanned a few titles until she found a old looking book on military strategies. Walking over to the couch, she started to read, every so often looking back outside.

"Don't fidget, dear." He spoke after a silence, not looking up, producing a pen from seemingly thin air to sketch something out on a ripped corner of paper.

"Sorry." She whispered as not to disturb his 'thinking'. The black clouds were getting closer, and the ship had still not changed course. Strokes if electricity ran through the clouds only 400ish meters away.

"Staring at it isn't going to get anything done, maybe they decided to finally off me, I'm a bit of a risky asset and maybe I outlived my use." He didn't look up from the book, for all the world appearing as though they were discussing the lunch choices, rather than the possibility of their deaths.

"Its a little ship dear, and no one else on here is particularly important, we'll be passing over a neat little mountain range soon, and if there's a storm, well its convenient." He fiddled with his bookmark while jotting something down on his arm for lack of paper. "I doubt the general will be very happy but its likely better to not have me around, could wind up working for the enemy." He snorted bitterly, "As if I'd be the one betraying them, but if I am ordered to die, I shall do so, soldiers so not question their orders."
