He bit his lip, he'd never been good at this, not like Oliver, to whom pretending came naturally. That certainly had been the wrong thing to say, he was so stupid sometimes.

Emil stood back, and smiled at Annette before walking out of the room, leaving Varus and the bed ridden ginger alone. Annette stated at the ceiling instead of engaging in what small conversation she knew they could have.
