His eyes narrowed suddenly then, leaning forward, "Now don't get the wrong idea here, he may be your friend, you might think he's cute, and he may be more oblivious than a 3 year old girl, but Varus belongs to me, and that means hands off, do I make myself perfectly clear, Miss Finely?" His eyes were blazing, and it was clear that answering incorrectly would result in serious consequences.

"Yes sir." The buds of hatred formed in Annettes heart. If there was one thing she hated in this world, it was people with power who threw around their authority to get whatever they wanted. She sat upright and every muscle in her body screamedd to punch him straight in the nose. However, in the military is was frowned upon to assault officers, which made her even angrier.

His tone was smooth and there was no trace of evidence that the arrogant bastard had been threatening her just moments before, "Though you're relatively new to the military, you have shown promise, enough so that I'd like to watch your progress if that's alright with you. We'll have you on the temp staff for The Maelstrom's upcoming trip." At this, he passed a thin envelope across the desk to her, "Paperwork, You should have the uniform delivered to your rooms within the next few days, keep in mind that this will be a higher class of ship than what you are used to, and will take some adjusting. Any requests or questions?"

"No sir." Actually yes, why are you such an ass? I'm a freaking engineer not some sit down paperworker. The stress of imagining what her reassignment would be like started to overflow. If anymore stress would be put on her, it would be likely that she destroy the entire room and burst into tears. Stress dealing with battles had never even been this bad. She picked up the envelope and began to stand, struggling again thanks to the lack of an arm. She saluted him once again, much to her unwanting.
