Harvey shuddered at the cold on his back. The wounds stung but his head was too fogged to do anything about it. He wanted to lay down, to sleep forever, but the chains at his wrists wouldn't let him no matter how much he tried. He absently stared at the wall, unable to focus his vision on any point for too long.

He wanted to drop the cloth, to sit down in the corner of the cell and await his fate. But his arms moved mechanically of their own will. "Say something?" The quiet plea left him before he could stop it and the floodgates opened, he dropped the cloth to the floor, landing with a wet smack.
"Just something, please? I- I don't want to be alone here, I couldn't do it, don't leave?"

Harvey's own voice had refused to work before, so the dry cracks that came out of his mouth when he tried to speak was nothing new. He couldn't leave Varus in pain like that. He couldn't without helping.
"I'm sorry." His voice barely a whisper.
